ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

My overarching professional goal is to enhance the participation experiences of individuals with disabilities in physical activity and sport. My current research supports this goal through (1) evaluation of population-level measurement practices to effectively identify and monitor health behaviors of individuals with disabilities; and (2) assessment of effective teaching practices to prepare pre-professionals to facilitate inclusive physical activity opportunities for individuals with disabilities. I focus on integrating adapted physical activity and epidemiological research approaches to better understand factors of physical activity at both individual and population-levels. As a teacher-research, I am engaged in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to evaluate the impact of instructional practices on student learning within physical education and coaching education preparation courses.
