Sharing the Fulbright Experience

In this session you'll learn about teaching and research abroad opportunities through the Fulbright U.S. Fellowship.

As a Fulbright Teaching/Research Scholar in 2022, Yogen collaborated with the Institute of Engineering- Tribhuvan University Campuses in Nepal through a Fulbright project for sharing methodologies and collaborating in teaching and research. The institutional collaboration was mainly focused on capacity development in the areas of teaching and research, mainly concentrated on effective teaching practices and their impacts on the faculty development and student success in Nepal. Numerous presentations and workshops were conducted on effective teaching practices and research methodology to Nepalese engineering educators and other university educators, thus broadening participation.

In addition to presentations and workshops, Yogen was also involved in faculty mentoring, students’ thesis defenses, co-advising research projects/thesis works and attending education forums.

In this presentation, Yogen will share his project experiences, challenges, and opportunities in Nepalese Engineering Education. He plans to return to Nepal soon in order to contribute to the Engineering program accreditation process and to collaborate in policy making for quality education in Nepal.
