UNgrading Assessment Format in a Large Lecture Class

This session will explain what "ungrading" is and how it can be applied to your class!

"Ungrading" describes a variety of techniques that de-emphasize high stakes grading and includes alternative forms of assessment and demonstration of content mastery. This session will not promote an elimination of grades. It will share valuable approaches that can be learned from exemplifying the proponents of ungrading. Examples describing my experience using qualitative (student survey) and quantitative results will be shown and I will share how to convert an almost-daily in-class assignments to an "ungrading" assessment format in a large lecture class.
